The Adirondack League Club was founded in 1890 as a hunting and fishing preserve. There are more than 25 lakes spread throughout the club’s 50,000 acres, and Little Moose is one of three lakes where members have camps. “Camps” refer to the 50 or so private homes around Little Moose Lake.
Old Forge is located in the central Adirondack Mountains, about an hour north of Utica, NY. Because of it’s remote location, they do not offer public transportation (no Uber, taxis, trains, buses etc.), so we recommend renting a car.
Syracuse, NY is the closest airport to Old Forge. There are no direct flights from Houston. Expect about a 2 hour drive northeast from the airport to the ALC.
Albany, NY is about a 2.5 hour drive northwest to the ALC.
From New York City: Expect a 5-hour car ride from the city or take the train from Penn Station to Utica, NY. The train usually takes a bit longer and tends to run late. When you arrive at Utica Station you must Uber to a rental car location and continue your trip north by rental car.
